  • Q: I’ve been in an accident, now what?"
    A: If you have been in an accident, you should NOT speak with the insurance adjuster or representative of the at-fault party, nor provide any information, until you are aware of all of your rights and risks. If you’ve been in an accident, reach out to our team today.
  • Q: Do I really need a lawyer?
    A: Sometimes you do and sometimes you don’t. We offer a FREE initial consultation that may provide you with enough information to resolve your case on your own, in the event that the injuries are not serious or of a long-lasting nature. However, there are cases where a person’s life has been altered over a period of many months to the remainder of their lives. Under these circumstances a lawyer is most likely needed.
  • Q: How do I file a legal claim?
    A: Claims are filed through the Court of Queen’s Bench Trial Division by the lawyer representing you. They outline in a general fashion that your claim is for the past and future losses and suffering, both physically and financially.
  • Q: What will your services cost me?
    A: In the event that the Mike Murphy Accident Team is retained for a personal injury or disability case, there are NO COSTS to you until you receive your settlement cheque. As your legal team, we bear all disbursements and risk with regards to the costs of the action. For Family Law or other legal services, retainers are required before your file is opened.
  • Q: How long does the legal process take?
    A: For a personal injury case wherein the applicant suffers long-term effects due to an accident or is disabled for the remainder of their days, it can take anywhere from a minimum of several months to as long as 3 or 4 years (or possibly slightly more). With regard to family law, our team pushes for swift resolution so that your case does not go on forever and that, throughout the entire process, you’re able to see the light at the end of the tunnel.
  • Q: Should I settle on an offer?
    A: Our goal is to make sure you receive a fair settlement for your case, and we will fight hard to ensure you receive it.
